Cedar Green / Rose Boucheron.

SAGAS. Edie Fisher is the domestic mainstay of Cedar Green, a Cotswolds village. She lives in a small cottage with her daughter, Mandy, who also works as a cleaner at Ledsham House, home of the beautiful but petulant Lady Ledsham and her handsome husband, Sir Robert. As the local solicitor, widower John Paynter - like Edie - has an insight into the lives of many of the village's inhabitants. One of his new clients is Laura Farrell, a divorcee who plans to open a small antique shop at the 'wrong' end of the village. Then there is Lady Somerville, elderly and aristocratic owner of The White House, who secretly mourns the absence of her beloved son. An old school-friend of Edie's appears on the scene - now a doctor - whose son has aspirations to develop Heron Court as luxury flats. In Rome, the enigmatic Graziella Massini has plans to come to England, and settle in the village. Both bring change in their wake, and the calm surface of life in Cedar Green is ruffled.
