In the final film, The British Grenadier, Dalziel is part of a group held hostage in a pub, with Pascoe unaware that his boss is in danger. The series also sees the first appearance as the newest member of the team, Detective Constable Shirley Novello, who is inevitably nick-named 'Ivor' by Dalziel.
